Giving back to the communities we serve is a practice as storied as our very history. Our company’s foundation has contributed $3.7 million dollars to Canadian non-profits in the communities where our employees live and work. In fact, 90 percent of those funds directly support community organizations and causes our employees actively support – the causes they are passionate about – like the United Way, Canadian Cancer Society and Charity of Hope. And our employees are encouraged to make a positive impact in their neighbourhoods – both as individuals and through team volunteer efforts.
For Enterprise’s 60th anniversary, the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation announced one of the largest donations aimed at fighting hunger. The program – called Fill Your Tank – will provide $60 million to address food insecurity around the globe. Over the next six years, $1.5 million will be distributed annually to Food Banks Canada to support operations and infrastructure in food banks across Canada.
We take a proactive approach to corporate responsibility by investing in solutions today – for a greater return for everyone tomorrow. The Enterprise 50 Million Tree Pledge is committed to planting 50 million trees over 50 years. And we’ve even partnered with a plant science center to explore potential alternatives to petroleum-based fuels.
